Young professionals in Greater Cincinnati are invited to attend the EACC Young Professionals Executive Insights event on March 19 featuring City of Cincinnati Council Member Amy Murray.
About the Executive Insights Series:
The Executive Insight Series offers exclusive events where young professionals have the opportunity to connect with top-level global business executives from the Greater Cincinnati region. Events are held in a professional, yet informal setting, in order to offer a causal environment that encourages open and engaging conversation. Each event is small in size (maximum of 15 registrants per event) to align with the series' mission of providing a personal and engaging experience. Attendees have the opportunity to hear the featured executive share his or her career journey, while also discussing professional development, career success, and what it means to be a future global leader. Each event also includes a question and answer session, as well as networking opportunities.
Who are the EACC Young Professionals?
The Young Professionals of the EACC are dynamic, international and internationally-minded 21-35 year-old individuals, who connect with European business and culture through a series of social and professional development events.
About Councilwoman Murray:
Councilwoman Amy Murray is honored to be serving her second term on Cincinnati City Council, after being elected in 2017. Her leadership roles on Council - Chair of the Economic Growth Committee, Vice Chair of Law and Public Safety, and membership of the Neighborhoods Committee and the Budget Committee, and Cincinnati Sister City Liaison, have provided a thorough knowledge of the City of Cincinnati and local government. On a state and national level, Amy has served on Governor Kasich's Task Force on Police-Community Relations and is an alumna of the JoAnn Davidson Leadership Institute, Governing Magazine Women in Government Leadership Program, and the American Enterprise Leadership Network. She is currently participating in the Aspen Institute Rodel Fellowship in Public Leadership.
Amy lived in Kyoto, Japan for a year as an exchange student during high school and developed a deep appreciation for the culture, language, and the people of Japan. After graduating from Arizona State University with a B. A. in Economics, she built a career in Global Business Development with Procter & Gamble for fourteen years. Her expertise, passion, and experience in the field provided an opportunity for her to create a consulting firm dedicated to assisting American companies grow their business in Japan and with Japanese companies in the U.S. When not serving the City of Cincinnati or helping expand businesses, she enjoys exploring a growing Cincinnati with her husband, their four children and dog Sami.
Cincinnati City Council:
The Cincinnati City Council is the City's legislative body. The popularly elected city council is responsible for enacting ordinances, imposing taxes, making appropriations, establishing policy, and hiring some city officials. The council adopts the local general plan, zoning, and subdivision ordinance.
The mission of the Cincinnati City Council is to provide, in a democratic and transparent manner, efficient and effective services which will make Cincinnati a better place in which to live, work and play.
