American Modern Insurance Group Names New CEOMarch 01, 2016
As reported by the Cincinnati Business Courier, EACC member American Modern Insurance Group has named a new CEO.
The Amelia-based specialty property and casualty insurer, which is a subsidiary of Munich Re, named Andreas Kleiner as its president and CEO. Kleiner, a management board member at one of Munich Re’s European subsidiaries, will take the role on May 1.
Kleiner replaces Manny Rios, who left his position as American Modern CEO in August.
American Modern specializes in insuring manufactured homes, boats, classic cars, motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles.
Kleiner started at Munich Re in 1993 as a fire engineer. He held various leadership roles in Singapore for the company from 1996 to 2003. He then became CEO of Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa Limited in Johannesburg, South Africa. He held that position until becoming a member of ERGO International’s board of management in 2007, a role he currently holds. The ERGO Group, also a Munich Re subsidiary, is one of the biggest insurance groups in Germany and throughout Europe. It provides health, life and property and casualty insurance among other insurance lines.
“Andreas’ experience at ERGO and his proven track record of strategic execution will help take American Modern to the next level in its specialty personal lines business,” said American Modern Chairman Tony Kuczinski in a news release.
