EACC Behind the Scenes offers a snapshot of EACC activities that may not be widely visible to our membership base, but nonetheless, contribute to the EACC's mission and enhance benefits for our members and the region. Below, please find updates from the EACC team.

EACC & UC Host President of the University of Bordeaux
Universities play a key role in the international economic vibrancy of the Greater Cincinnati region. They educate our future global leaders, they bring international students to our region, and develop partnerships with institutions from all over the world. This month, in partnership with the University of Cincinnati, the EACC hosted the President of the University of Bordeaux.

Impressed by the vibrancy of the European American business community during their visit in January, last week's visit focused on learning about the Start Up ecosystem in Cincinnati and its opportunity to be a hub for entry into the U.S market. University of Bordeaux was recently named University of Excellence and has received funds to better support their startups emerging from research, and their international development.

The full day agenda started at Cintrifuse for an overview of StartUp Cincy, followed by CincyTech for understanding of technology transfer and funding. After lunch at Salazar in OTR, we visited HCDC to learn about the incubator space and support services and concluded the day with a meeting with 3 investors of Queen City Angels.

EACC to Welcome First Global Intern in July
As announced earlier this month, the EACC has partnered with UC International Services to launch the EACC Global Internship Program, which is a  J-1 Visa Exchange Program. I am excited to follow up that announcement with news that the first intern will be arriving in early July! The EACC just received confirmation today that Manuel Dausend will be coming from Germany and working as an intern at EACC member Hahn Automation.  This fantastic news was made possible through a collaboration of EACC members including UC, Hahn Automation and Saar-Hartmetall.

We are excited to welcome Manuel to the Greater Cincinnati region and into the EACC network. Stay tuned for more information in next week’s Newsbrief.

The EACC Global Internship Program offers EACC members a new international business solution, and host companies find many benefits in bringing an international intern into their U.S. location:
    • Learn about an intern’s culture, business practices, and language for company’s future business development in an intern’s home country
    • Evaluate and train an intern for employment in home country upon completion of the program
    • Support company’s global talent development by providing U.S. experience to future employees at a location outside the U.S.
