A Message from 2017-2018 EACC Board President & Interim Executive Director Doug Moormann
Warren Buffet once said, “Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” Today is our opportunity to plant trees.
On behalf of my fellow EACC Board Officers: Vice President Yannick Schilly and Treasurer Mukesh Patel, thank you for the opportunity to lead the EACC as we open a new chapter for our organization in 2017. Next year is one filled with opportunity: opportunities to select new leadership, identify new directions and re-energize existing efforts.
As you are well aware, we are in the process of hiring a new Executive Director for the EACC. We are evaluating candidates who have an ability to develop strategic relationships, possess some level of European experience, someone who will be an authentic and passionate ambassador of the EACC brand and an individual with a record of business or member development. While this seems a tough order to fill, I am pleased to report that we have a solid pool of candidates. We look forward to onboarding a new staff leader in early 2017.
With new leadership will come new ideas; ideas from staff and ideas from members. Your thoughts and feedback are welcome as we take advantage of this transition to recalibrate our Chamber’s work.
The EACC won’t, however, abandon its important existing work. We recognize the solid foundation the EACC has in place. Our three pillars were carefully selected and continue to be recognized by the Board and members alike as important. The opportunity is to refresh and re-energize.
The EACC is a closely-knit organization that relies on its members to accomplish its work. As we move forward together into 2017, we will be looking to you, as a valued member of this organization, to pick-up the proverbial shovel and help us plant the trees that will provide shade for others in the future.
- Doug Moormann
