As the President of the Board of Directors of the European American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cincinnati (EACC) I wanted to write to you about two important staff changes at the Chamber.

Effective immediately, Anne Cappel will be stepping aside from her role as the Executive Director of the European American Chamber of Commerce. We have all witnessed Anne’s passion for economic development and the EACC. At this time, the EACC is seeking to capitalize on its learning and experiences to evaluate the potential to develop a more robust economic development platform to attract and grow more European companies to the region.  Anne’s new role is currently conducting a feasibility study; the outcome of which will determine the EACC's future role in economic development and Anne's future involvement with the EACC moving forward.

Under Anne’s leadership, the EACC’s economic development efforts have yielded strong results, most recently attracting three Finnish companies to locate in the Cincinnati USA region. As the chamber’s approach to this work evolves, it will remain steadfast in its commitment to working with REDI Cincinnati; Tri-ED, the Northern Kentucky Economic Development Corporation; and other stakeholders to promote this region as a viable and preferred location for European investment in North America.

Anne initiated a conversation with the Executive Committee of the Board about this transition over the last several months. She expressed her interest in stepping away from the Executive Director role and the Committee worked with Anne and the EACC staff to assemble an orderly and planned transition to support the ongoing goals of the Chamber, support of its members and Anne’s interests.

In the meantime, we are pleased to announce that Julien Biteau will be assuming the role of Managing Director and leadership of the EACC effective immediately. Julien, a native of France, holds an MBA from the University of Dayton and an MA from Pau Business University (France). He speaks English, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese. In addition to his existing duties for membership development and engagement, Julien will be responsible for all communications, budget and administrative functions, as well as the Chamber’s communications, talent attraction and development activities.

The EACC Board has authorized the search for a new Executive Director. This search will commence in earnest once we have completed our upcoming strategic planning meeting and associated evaluation of the organizations job descriptions.

I value your commitment and participation in the EACC. If you have questions or comments regarding these changes please do not hesitate to contact me by email, chris.knueven@mvg.com.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Knueven
    EACC Board President
