    Members and Friends:

From time to time, we'll use the Newsbrief to alert you about opportunities of interest (such as the upcoming Department of Commerce TradeWinds mission to Southeastern Europe), activities of our EACC partners (such as the relauch of the EACC Paris website), or just to draw your attention to good things going on in our community (such as the Jefferson Award program run by the Cincinnati Rotrary Club).  More often of course, we will provide updates on current events that are relevant to the interests of our members, such as U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May's speech today outlining her blueprint for the upcoming Brexit negotiations.

In her speech, May laid out 12 key objectives:
"Certainty wherever possible. Control of our own laws. Strengthening the United Kingdom. Maintaining the common travel area with Ireland. Control of immigration. Rights for EU nationals in Britain, and British nationals in the EU. Enhancing rights for workers. Free trade with European markets. New trade agreements with other countries. A leading role in science and innovation. Cooperation on crime, terrorism and foreign affairs. And a phased approach, delivering a smooth and orderly Brexit."  (To view the full transcript of Prime Minister May's Speech, please click here.)

I'm interested in your reactions to May's comments, and would also welcome your thoughts and suggestions about the types of programming EACC might develop in the next weeks and months regarding Brexit that would serve the needs of our members and the broader community.

    All the best,
